Tom Cruise went to Daytona and made it official: a sequel to Days of Thunder is coming. Cruise will return as Cole Trickle, Anne Hathaway is reportedly joining him, and the movie is scheduled for summer 2028. Cruise made the announcement while at Daytona International Speedway because apparently at 64, Top Gun wasn’t enough speed for him.
September starts today, and so does Broward Attractions and Museums Month. A bunch of local spots are offering 2-for-1 admission all month, including Flamingo Gardens, Butterfly World, Sawgrass Recreation Park and NSU Art Museum. So if you’ve been saying, “We should do that sometimes,” apparently sometime is September. And bring somebody, because they’re basically free.
With Grand Theft Auto VI set in a fictional Miami called Vice City, Miami-Dade and Rockstar Games are talking about turning parts of the real Miami into Vice City -- possibly GTA-themed Metromover stations, manhole covers, PortMiami installations and even an “Arrive in Vice City” experience at MIA. Nothing’s approved yet, but the county sees tourist dollars in it.
