Today is International Beer Day, so grab a cold one, although apparently not too cold, because that’s one of several beer myths we’ve been believing all these years!
Turns out dark beer isn’t necessarily stronger, draft beer isn’t secretly plotting your hangover and “beer before liquor, never been sicker” is basically an old drinking rhyme masquerading as medical advice.
That dreaded beer belly? Beer alone isn’t the culprit, but too many calories and not enough movement. So technically, the nachos may need to lawyer up!
And good news for IPA haters: they’re not all bitter! Some are fruity, sweet, hazy or even sour. As for beer being “healthy”… let’s not get carried away. There may be some benefits when enjoyed in moderation, but nobody’s prescribing a six-pack with dinner.
Personally, I’m just relieved to learn my belly can no longer legally blame the beer. Cheers... to International Beer Day! 🍻
