I watched four hours of women’s surfing on Saturday and another five on Sunday. It is addictive. One moment calm and slow, peaceful even as the surfers await the perfect wave...minutes tick by. Then bam, all of a sudden they’re off! Flying through the barrel of a wave, just inches from razor sharp coral. The power of the waves could generate North America alone. (I made that stat up frankly, but it sounds about right. It’s a mean wave.)
Located in Teahupo’o in French Polynesia (see...it’s French! So it works!) The Seine seems dangerous to some (fecal related reasons), but Teahupo’o means “Wall of Skulls.” Just sayin’.
Oh, and did I mention sharks ????
FYI, Carissa Moore is amazing (she won gold in Tokyo) - Go #TeamUSA
