Toyota is recalling approximately 31,000 of its 2026 RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid SUVs because they could suddenly lose power while driving.
The automaker says a software problem could cause the hybrid system to shut down, increasing the risk of a crash, especially at higher speeds.
Toyota will notify affected owners by early December, and dealerships will fix the problem with a free software update.
How to Check and Repair Your Vehicle
- Locate your VIN: Find your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number on your dashboard near the windshield or on your vehicle registration card.
- Check Status: Enter your VIN online using the Toyota Recall Lookup Tool or the federal NHTSA Recalls Database.
