Meatloaf collaborated for years with songwriter and producer, Jim Steinman. Steinman’s distinct sound was apparent in songs like ‘Two Out of Three Ain’g Bad’, recorded by Meatloaf; Air Supply’s recording of ‘Making Love Out of Nothing At All and Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’. Then there was ‘It’s All Coming. Back to Me Now’.

Meatloaf wanted to record the song as soon as he heard Steinman’s demo, but Steinman believed the song needed to be sung by a woman to achieve its full impact. A first version of ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now was produced by Steinman using a group of female singers he brought together an called Pandora’s Box. The song was released in the U.K.to a mediocre reception, peaking at #52 on the charts.

Then Celine Dion came along. The version she recorded in 1996 topped the Billboard charts, and sole more than 2 million copies.

It wasn’t until 2006 that Meatloaf finally got his wish and recorded the song as a duet with Norwegian singer Marion Raven. This third version went to #1 in Norway and Scotland, but never made it to the U.S.

However... they recorded a music video of the song, and with his power vocals, it shows exactly why he wanted to record. ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’.
