According to KTBS and KTAL, authorities arrested Taylor Parker, 27, of Simms, at a hospital Friday after police found the body of 21-year-old Reagan Simmons Hancock, who was eight months pregnant, in a New Boston home.

“The preliminary investigation indicated an unborn child had been removed from the victim’s body,” New Boston police said in a news release Saturday.

About 10 a.m. Friday, a state trooper stopped Parker, who said she had just given birth along the roadside, in De Kalb, KTAL reported. She and the infant were rushed to a hospital in nearby Idabel, Oklahoma, where the baby was pronounced dead, authorities said. A doctor also examined Parker and discovered that she had not delivered the child, according to the news outlet.

Authorities arrested Parker and took her to the Idabel jail, KTAL reported.

Medical examiners will perform an autopsy on the baby, according to KTBS.

Friends of Hancock, who leaves behind a husband and toddler daughter, have started PayPal and Facebook fundraisers for her family.
