FLY FROM WEST PALM TO MIAMI IN 20 MINUTES?
A new “air taxi” network could soon turn a 2-hour drive into a quick flight , skipping I-95 traffic entirely.
Planned Service Overview
Several companies are developing “electric vertical takeoff and landing” (eVTOL) networks to bypass I-95 traffic.
- Archer Aviation: Currently on track for its first passenger-carrying flights in the U.S. in 2026. Their planned network includes routes connecting Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach (PBI).
- Vertical Aerospace: Has showcased its “Valo” aircraft in Miami, with estimated flight times of roughly 36 minutes to Palm Beach.
- Ride Time: Flights are expected to take 10–20 minutes, significantly reducing the 60–90 minute drive.
Key Locations & Infrastructure
- Airports: Miami International (MIA) and Palm Beach International (PBI).
- Urban Hubs: A dedicated vertiport is planned for downtown West Palm Beach.
