A homeowner in Fort Myers woke up to a notification from their doorbell camera -- and the vistor was a full-size alligator standing up and pressing the doorbell with its snout. Hmmm. At 2am, it’s either Uber Eats or an alligator checking if you ordered swamp.

Sea turtle nesting season officially begins this month along South Florida beaches. Wildlife officials remind us to turn off beachfront lights at night and avoid disturbing nests, since thousands of turtles return to local beaches every year to lay eggs. They return to the exact beach where they were born to lay eggs...impressive! I can’t even remember where I parked at Publix!

After Hurricane Idalia pushed them north last year, American flamingos have been showing up again in the Everglades and South Florida wetlands, which has birders very excited. We’re officially returning to our natural color palette: pink birds, turquoise water, and neon margaritas.
