Some people are stars, and some people just seem to make the world a little warmer. Dolly Parton was one of those people. She was one of those rare people almost everybody seemed to love. Brilliant songwriter, unmistakable voice, huge personality. And underneath all of it, an enormous heart. She gave back constantly, especially to kids and education, and never seemed to lose that warmth or humor. Dolly Parton, gone at 80. A true American original.

Marlins lose a heartbreaker. The Fish and Red Sox were tied into the 11th inning last night in Miami, then Boston’s Jarren Duran hit a grand slam.

Surveillance video from an Edgewater Mexican restaurant caught a woman swiping the restaurant’s tip jar while the man with her apparently acted as lookout. You know inflation is bad when criminals have moved on to the tip jar. (Or maybe she just misunderstood the phrase ‘takeout’???)
