A Miami landmark looks for an encore. Voters tomorrow will decide whether the city can partner with a private company to restore the long-shuttered Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key. It opened in 1963 for powerboat racing, appeared in Elvis Presley’s Clambake, and hosted Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett -- Buffett famously performed on a floating stage and once jumped into the water afterward. It’s been closed since hurricane Andrew in 1992.
Kristen Bell showed up at a Savannah Bananas game and sang Frozen, Wicked and Dirty Dancing. It’s super fun.
Barnes & Noble confirms another Miami store is coming, this time at The Collection at Midtown Miami, with an opening targeted for early October. It’ll be the third new Barnes & Noble in the Miami area in less than a year.
Miami Marlins took the series in Cincinnati. We were scoreless through 7 innings, then the Fish scored two in the 8th, then dropped five more in the 9th. Marlins win 7-1...we’re off to Philadelphia tonight.
