Rod Stewart is retiring from touring after 60 years on the road. He says his tour next year will be his “last tour ever, ever.” In case you’re wondering, Rod is 81.

The Florida Panthers open their season this afternoon in Raleigh against the Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina will raise its Stanley Cup banner before the game, so the Cats get a front-row seat to that ceremony -- and then a chance to spoil the party.

South Florida’s Caribbean Carnival is almost here, and this year Broward gets the big parade. The celebration starts Saturday with Junior Carnival and steel-pan music in Tamarac, then builds to the parade and concert in Lauderhill on October 11th.
