On what would have been her 63rd birthday, Mattel unveiled the first-ever Whitney Houston Barbie, inspired by her iconic 1987 “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” music video. The doll features her signature purple dress, colorful earrings, and even a microphone stand.

Whitney’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, says the idea has been in the works for 20 years, explaining, “Whitney really wanted to invest the time in doing a doll.”

Now that it’s finally here, Pat says, “To see that vision finally come to life decades later is both emotional and inspiring,” adding that the Barbie will be “a lasting influence across generations.”

The collectible doll is now available at Target, Walmart, Amazon, and Mattel Creations.

If you know me even just a little bit, you know I follow the music…sing it, dance to it and play it on the radio. I hope the music we play makes your workday, or beach day, go by easy breezy.
