Congratulations to two South Florida/Miami Herald spellers in the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee: Logan Cox, 14, 8th grader at Herbert A. Ammons Middle School in South Miami-Dade. He won the Miami-Dade/Monroe Miami Herald bee with the “lumago.” Also Lancaster Gramer, 14, 8th grader at Franklin Academy in Cooper City. He won the Broward Miami Herald bee with “californium.” Now they’ll both head to the national competition.
