Spooky season is officially here! For those who celebrate, it’s the most wonderful time of the year - filled with jack-o-lanterns, haunted houses, costumes, candy, pumpkin spice everything and of course, scary movies! AMC is back with their FearFest event which features over 650 hours of horror programming throughout the entire month of October.

Today features almost all the Halloween movies from 2pm to after midnight. Saturday is a Final Destination marathon and Sunday, it’s Fear the 80s with Poltergeist, Friday the 13th and others.

Looks like the curtain’s finally closing at the Regal Oakwood 18 in Hollywood — yep, demolition’s underway! The theater that gave us sticky floors, runaway popcorn, and that one guy who always kicked your seat is being torn down to make room for a Dick’s House of Sport! So instead of reclining seats, you’ll get treadmills and fishing poles. Progress, right? Just remember — if you hear loud explosions near Oakwood Plaza, it’s not the latest action movie… it’s just Hollywood tearing down the old one.
