South Florida Steps Up For Jamaica

Local Cities Lead Hurricane Relief Drive

Hurricane Melissa churned through the Caribbean Sea toward Jamaica and was expected to make landfall on the island Tuesday.

If you want to help our neighbors in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa, there are a bunch of drop-off sites right here in South Florida.

In Miramar, you can bring bottled water, canned food, tarps, flashlights—whatever you can spare—to any city fire station or the Police Headquarters on City Hall Promenade.

Lauderhill is collecting at City Hall, Veterans Park, John Mullins Park, and even Joy’s Roti Delight—yes, grab a patty and drop off some supplies!

And down in Homestead, donations are welcome at City Hall, the Police Department, and the Phichol Williams Community Center.

Every box, every bottle, every bit helps our Caribbean friends rebuild.
